Prof. Dr. Max Lüscher
se narodil 9. 9. 1923 v Basileji (Švýcarsko)
Tam rovněž studoval sociologii, filozofii práva, filozofii, náboženství a klinickou psychiatrii. Pod dojmem experimentální práce s testem H. Rorschacha, vyvíjel svůj test barev, o kterém - tak jak je v současnosti znám – poprvé referoval ve věku necelých 24 let na Mezinárodním psychologickém kongresu v Lausanne v roce 1947. Byl to výsledek jeho pětiletého výzkumu vnímání barev zdravými osobami a lidmi s psychiatrickým onemocněním.
Lüscherova dizertační práce „Barva jako diagnostický nástroj v psychologii“ byla vysoce ceněna a už tehdy se odborníci shodovali v názoru, že tato metoda vejde do historie psychologie. Byla přijata s vyznamenáním profesory z oblastí psychiatrie, filozofie a psychologie.
Jen čas dává výše uvedené prognóze a vyřčeným slovům za pravdu, když dnes po více než šedesáti letech je Lüscherova klinická diagnostika široce známa na celém světě a je hojně využívána v praxi.
V roce 1949 vyšel test barev poprvé knižně a byl postupně přeložen téměř do tří desítek jazyků.
Lüscherovy barvové diagnostiky jsou vyučovány v České republice a také v různých jazycích na univerzitách po celém světě, jako například v Argentině, Dánsku, Finsku, Chile, Itálii, Maďarsku, Německu, Norsku, Peru, Polsku, Rumunsku, Rusku, Rakousku, Slovensku, Švýcarsku, USA (Yale, Boston) a další.
